Model of Media Education in Schools (Grounded Theory Research)

ABSTRACT:
This study aims to investigate the concept of media education and obtain operational strategies to adopt new methods for school management. The present study was carried out in the form of qualitative research using grounded theory. The statistical population included experienced specialists in the field of media and education, selected using theoretical sampling and structured interviews. Based on the results, it is necessary to make changes in the methodology and educational model of schools due to the growing power of media and technological tools in the routine of students and the effects of media on the style, type, and manner of learning. The results showed that improving cognitive interpretation, emphasizing the consequences of media behaviors, analyzing symbolic messages, defense mechanisms in dealing with content, focusing on information processing, strengthening the power of questioning, cognitive organization, audience memory, audience mental modeling, awareness of cognitive load, motivation in media consumption, and fostering creativity and initiative in children are the most important aspects.
