Exploring Influences on Relationship and Marriage Decisions of The Younger Generation: An Extensive Review

ABSTRACT:
In recent times, a noticeable global decrease in population has raised concerns about understanding the underlying factors that affect relationship and marriage decisions, particularly among younger individuals. This article meticulously examines the multifarious factors that influence these choices of the younger generation. It synthesizes insights from 16 seminal research papers systematically organized into six thematic categories to unravel the complexities and multifaceted determinants encountered by this demographic when forming relationships or entering matrimony.The study elucidates that familial background and parental union stability have a profound impact on young individuals’ marital values and choices. Early marriages, predominantly propelled by economic hardships and educational deficiencies, are associated with adverse reproductive and psychological outcomes. Furthermore, this review underscores how educational initiatives focused on marital and interpersonal bonds can enhance quality communication among young partners while revealing societal norms, economic prospects, familial influences, residential satisfaction, environmental factors as influential roles shaping youth’s propensity to marry or procreate.This article offers innovative perspectives and strategies for navigating myriad influences in realms of marital/interpersonal relationships among emerging generations. By providing new understandings gleaned from existing literature/theoretical paradigms in this field through novel insights derived herefrom; our work is significant for policy formulation/practical implementation/future scholarly pursuits fostering individual/societal flourishing amid declining populations worldwide.
