Collaborative Learning in Education: A Proposal for Reformulating Old and Politically Incorrect Advertisements in Communication
Gelise Soares Alfena
ABSTRACT:
Collaborative learning is recognized as an essential aspect of education, emphasizing interaction between individuals for cognitive and social development, regardless of school level. This study explored the contributions of John Dewey and Lev Vygotsky to the theory of collaborative learning, highlighting their views on the importance of social interaction in Higher Education education at a public college in the interior of the state of São Paulo, Brazil. The objective was to analyze old advertisements in a collaborative environment, promoting critical reflection on the part of students, and reformulating them to align with contemporary politico-socio-historical-cultural contexts. The activity involved the formation of groups, selection of advertisements, research into the historical context, analysis, reformulation, and presentation. The results demonstrate the importance of collaborative learning in promoting critical ethical thinking in advertising texts.
