Possibilities Of Identifying Talents in An Ordinary Elementary School

ABSTRACT:

The submitted contribution represents a part of the author’s own research. The aim of the first part of the conducted research was to analyze the possibilities of identifying a gifted child of school age in the regular education system using newly created and questionnaire-like nominations (pedagogical, parental) and subsequently verifying the validation of the obtained data using a range of tests currently available to counseling and clinical psychologists for this specific age group. The research group consisted of 128 elementary school children who were administered 256 teacher nomination-questionnaires and 128 parent nomination-questionnaires. This questionnaire survey showed a great informative value, and, after a pilot verification, it can be considered a suitable identification tool that could be used by special educators to identify the talents of pupils directly in schools.
