ABSTRACT:
In Togo, many people are interested in learning the English language from secondary schools to universities. There is also other type of learners such as executives, business people, officials and even individuals that are really interested in mastering the English language. French is the administrative, political and economic language in Togo. All this plethora of learners have come to understand the global impact of the English language in many aspects of their lives. As a language learning organization, we have been observing our learners through the different cycles of their English language learning. Based on the observations and researches, this article delves into effective strategies for autonomous foreign language learning. It digs the real reasons which affect the learning process and synthesizes insights from language acquisition theories combining educational psychology, pedagogy and practical methodologies. It also tackles a set of behaviors developed by learners consciously or unconsciously to enhance their learning process. Through a meticulous exploration of research-backed approaches, this guide aims to empower language learners, educators, and professionals in fostering autonomous language acquisition.
