ABSTRACT:
This research is motivated by the learning outcomes of SMP Negeri 5 Tanggetada, Southeast Sulawesi, Indonesia, which are still relatively low; many students are less enthusiastic about receiving mathematics lessons. Most students hesitate to ask questions during the learning process, even though the teacher has provided the opportunity. Apart from that, not all students lack the courage to express their arguments in public even though they have completed the questions given by the teacher. This research aims to describe students’ mathematics learning outcomes in terms of extroverted and introverted personalities at SMP Negeri 5 Tanggetada, Southeast Sulawesi, Indonesia. This type of research is qualitative descriptive analysis. The subjects of this research consisted of 38 class VIII students at SMP Negeri 5 Tanggetada, Southeast Sulawesi, Indonesia. Data collection methods include learning outcomes, extrovert and introvert personality questionnaires, and interviews. Data was then analyzed through three stages: data reduction, presentation, and conclusion. The results of the discussion show that: (1) The extrovert and introvert personalities of the 38 students consist of seven extroverts and eight introverts in the high category, 24 extroverts, and 27 introverts in the medium category, and seven extroverts and three introverts in the low category. (2) High learning outcomes with a high extrovert personality can fulfill all indicators of an extrovert personality, and high learning outcomes with a high introvert personality can fulfill all indicators of an introverted personality.
