ABSTRACT:

The rapid advancements in digital technologies present significant opportunities to lower the barriers to entry and empower young Ghanaian entrepreneurs. This qualitative research study explores how technologies such as mobile applications, e-commerce platforms, and social media can be leveraged to support the growth of youth-led businesses in Ghana. The study utilizes a combination of in-depth interviews with young entrepreneurs, focus group discussions with stakeholders, and observations of technology-driven entrepreneurial ecosystems to assess the role of technology hubs, maker spaces, and startup accelerators in fostering innovation and new venture creation among the youth. Furthermore, the research identifies opportunities to integrate emerging technologies (e.g., renewable energy, fintech, agritech) into youth-led business models that address local challenges and create sustainable economic opportunities. By harnessing the power of technology and innovation, this study uncovers strategies that can unlock the entrepreneurial potential of young Ghanaians and catalyze their meaningful contribution to the country’s economic and social development.
