ABSTRACT:

Business schools around the world have been integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) in their curricula in various ways, while discussions are still ongoing on the benefits and risks of using AI in education. While there are tremendous benefits of AI that could enhance the students’ learning experience in a course, some of the literature argue that it could negatively impact learning performance depending on how AI is utilized in the pedagogical structure of course delivery. Specifically, machine learning, a subset of AI, plays a crucial role in business analytics by enabling organizations to make data-driven decisions and improve overall performance. AI embedded higher education is considered essential for the future, with a focus on various areas such as smart tutor assistants, smart assessments, learning partners, data mining, and learning analytics. By integrating AI tools and techniques into the curriculum, students are exposed to many analytics skills such as advanced predictive analytics, task automation, data preprocessing, data transformation, data visualization, and extracting data-driven insights, preparing them to navigate complex global business environments. This paper focuses on summarizing recent literature on how AI is utilized in business education and the impact of AI on students’ learning performance, soft and hard skill development, lifelong learning, and reaching course outcomes. Secondly, there will be a discussion on the impacts of AI implementation in an undergraduate Business Analytics course taught in the US.
