The «Plop» in the Condorito Comic, an Analysis from Saussure and Strauss Y Corbin
Beder Bocanegra Vilcamango
ABSTRACT:
The proposal of the onomatopoeic word in the comic constitutes the argument a related to the condor, it is attributed the origin, although the bird, initially, was a marginal figure. The analysis of the comic and the relation with the sound/word «plop» corresponds to the inductive method of the narrative of the comic whose Chilean sociolinguistic space is very peculiar with other expressions as much or more important than the lofty phrase «I demand an explanation». Although any coprolalia word is privileged of the social resonance in the meaning created, it is necessary to structure the meaning to naturalize the use of the «plop» from the contribution of the grounded theory (Strauss) and the arbitrariness and conventionality (Saussure) of the linguistic sign in the sociolinguistic context. The monosyllable «plop» and the absolute amazement level or surprise to something unexpected is the lexicographic contribution to Spanish. The study aims to develop the creation of monosyllable arbitrarily proposed by Pepo. The study is based on two principles raised by Saussure regarding the conventionalism and arbitrariness of the linguistic sign. The finding has all the elements that semantics provides to deconstruct and construct the acropolalic meaning of grapheme plop that can not only be seen as an onomatopoeic sound, but is a product of the intellect of Pepo and its socio-cultural transcendence in Latin America. The «plop» defines the sense of creativity for Latin America without an increasingly common and regular coprolalic emphasis in Spanish language.
