Preventive Strategies for Heropreneurship
Dr. Vasudev Das
ABSTRACT:
Entrepreneurial leadership continues to attract researchers’ investigative inquiries. However, heropreneurship has not gained sufficient traction in the research industry. This study on preventive strategies for heropreneurship bridges the lacuna in the management literature. Firm ethics constitutes the premise that everyone can make a positive difference in the industrial sector. Many creative and respectable entrepreneurs are launching and promoting positive social change, and more than a few inspiring intrapreneurs are moving the wheels of change in the social sector. However, a manager taking credit for the innovative creation of their employees constitutes heropreneurship and could be disempowering and demotivating for the employee. Heropreneurship stems from a phenomenological mindset wherein a manager falsely thinks every employee’s accomplishment is meant to boost the manager’s social prestige. Managers need to recognize and publicize the innovative achievements of employees for sustained high performance. Grounded in Gottfredson and Hirschi’s self-control, Papi-Thornton’s heropreneurship, and Prabhupada’s sonic therapeutic intervention frameworks, the investigative inquirer sonographically explored strategies for preventing heropreneurship in the social sector. The data collection methods were six semi-structured interviews utilizing snowballing samples and document review. Nine themes emerged from the analysis of interview data transcriptions: recognition and publicization of employee accomplishment, employee achievement documentation, escalation of heropreneurship to the human resource department, the firing of heropreneurs, mental manumission intervention, phenomenological mindset de-escalation, post-conventional consciousness, sonic therapeutic intervention, and willpower development. An astute analysis of interview data transcriptions generated nine themes: gender equity refresher training, willpower development, self-restraint reinforcement, pristine identity development, emotional courage intervention, redirecting-a-misdirected patriarchy, equity strategies implementation, sonic therapeutic intervention, and practical supermundane values. Augmented family development, vivacious society, high productivity, and general happiness are some of the study’s implications for positive social change (PSC).
