ABSTRACT:
Xi Jinping launched the Belt and Road Initiative in 2013 to promote peaceful co-existence. After a decade of BRI, he announced the Global Civilization Initiative on 15 March 2023. Meanwhile, Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia had mooted Malaysia MADANI on 19 January 2023 with six core universal values in building Malaysian civilization. During the state visit meeting on 31 March 2023, the two leaders emphasized the multifaceted agenda of BRI with global development. The article discusses the ongoing colossal plan of BRI since 2013, which has significantly impacted the sociological imagination and work progress of Malaysia MADANI. The study employed a qualitative method, including desk research, observation, interviews, and speech of authoritative informants from official occasions which had attended, to gather primary and secondary data. China’s Belt and Road Initiative is crucial for enhancing the Madani Economy Framework, but it requires significant conscientiousness in social infrastructure to boost Malay Belt trust. Remarkably, this article also found that long history, consociationalism, people-centred, proportionate shared, and deliberative jurisdiction dimensions are imperative in establishing the Claimant States Joint Authority Model in building 21st-century Asian civilization. The model demonstrated Malaysia’s successful transformation from a friendly to a close strategic relationship with China, which can be dynamically applied to other South China Sea claimant states. The impact evaluation framework from Malaysia’s literati pertaining to understanding the sociological imagination of this model is also weighty. This is crucial for maintaining autonomy in joint development partnerships and promoting people’s dignity in the 21st-century Asian civilization.
