Cyberpsychology: An Emerging Scientific Field
Prof. Abderrezak Iddir
ABSTRACT:
Previously, the human-machine interface attracted particular research interest in cognitive psychology and cognitive ergonomics. Researchers then became interested in the interaction of humans with machines and the cognitive processes that result, such as information processing. With the advent of information and communication technologies, research in psychology has, ipso facto, focused on psychological phenomena resulting from human interaction with digital technology, especially the Internet, hence the emergence of a new scientific field: cyberpsychology. This article will discuss what cyberpsychology is and its applications, as well as the concept of “virtual reality”, closely related to cyberpsychology
