Reimagining Creativity: AI as A Co-Creator in Contemporary Artistic Practices
Hedy Hurban
ABSTRACT:
The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into art, film, and music has redefined how these works are conceived, produced, and experienced. This paper examines AI’s role as a co-creator, exploring how machine learning algorithms and generative networks influence contemporary artistic practices. By analyzing examples of AI-generated art, music composition, and hybrid installations, it investigates how these tools expand creative possibilities while raising ethical, cultural, and aesthetic concerns. Central to this analysis is the concept of “co-creativity,” where human and AI collaboration challenges traditional notions of authorship, originality, and the artist’s role. Additionally, this research addresses the biases inherent in AI systems and their potential to homogenize aesthetic values, emphasizing the importance of preserving cultural integrity and human intuition. Ultimately, it seeks to inspire a balanced approach to integrating AI into art, fostering inclusivity and innovation without compromising artistic integrity.
