ABSTRACT:
Cities worldwide are facing challenges resulting particularly from urban sprawl, increasing car traffic, growing car dependency and deteriorating quality of life in cities. The 15-minute city model is an urban planning concept that brings to the centre of interest a dimension of proximity, the idea of living locally and active mobility. Studies conducted so far in this field try to find and build a methodology for assessing cities’ and neighbourhood compliance with the requirement of this concept. Although previous research has revealed a lot of methods and indicators that can be used, major theoretical and methodological questions still remain open. There is a need to build a comprehensive methodology that will integrate all the fragmented methods and different dimensions into a holistic approach. The current paper using the systematic literature review method investigates the developed so far methods to categorise them and develop recommendations for the integrated approach.
