The Risk of the Growth of Far-Right Parties and The Collapse of Immigrant Rights in The European Union
Homayoun Mallyar
ABSTRACT:
According to the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights, racist comments against refugees, asylum seekers and migrants were observed across the EU in 2016 (Fundamental Rights Report, 2016). These actions included hate speech, behavior and hate crimes. The arrival of more Muslims in the last decade has led to the expansion of the activities of right-wing groups and parties and their supporters in Europe. Although the expansion of the activities of right-wing groups and parties in Europe is affected by various factors, but immigrants and how they are treated or managed have also had a great impact on the growth of these parties in the last decade, some of which are given below. Far-right parties are growing again in Europe after several decades, these parties are taking advantage of the vacuum in today’s conditions, where not only the unstable economy, but also proxy wars and wars between Russia and Ukraine, the fall of the Afghan government, and the deals between America and the Taliban and the Israeli-Palestinian wars, all of these have caused general dissatisfaction among European citizens. These dissatisfactions, which have various factors, have caused the existing far-right groups to use this opportunity and consider immigrants as the cause of all problems, and on the other hand, it will cause the European Union to collapse and cause the growth of extreme nationalism and violence. which is very dangerous in today’s unstable world? In this article, we try to express the danger of the rise of far-right parties and populist groups in relation to human rights and the rights of immigrants.
