“STOU Media For All”: Platform for Distance Learning at Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University

ABSTRACT: 

This research aims to develop an “STOU Media for all” platform to implement a distance learning for Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University by studying the requirement of 256 undergraduate students in Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University. The results show that overall, the platform’s desire was at the highest level in each aspect. Twelve experts also approve the developed platform. The study of the platform consists of six parts as follows: 1) User management; 2) Course Management; 3) Tests and evaluations; 4) Tools to create course promotional materials; 5) Data Management; and 6) Media Management
The platform is accessible by all devices in a form of a mobile application. There is an extension of the current Learning Management Systems (LMS) which is the platform that focuses on full access anytime anywhere for life-long learning education.

The results show that a study group of 30 students who used “STOU Media for all” to study course number 10152: Thailand and Global Society for a total of 15 module have achieved very satisfactory scores (x ̅ = 4.57, S.D. = 0.56). The e-book section in the platform gained high interest from the users and its dynamic interactions made the students learn as a group with high morale with the attention of advisory professors.
