A Place of Learning: An Educator’s Journey to International Edupreneurship
Hélène H. Leone
This presentation will tell the “origin” story of an educator’s journey to international edupreneurship. This presentation will critically examine questions of leadership, and the initial decision-making process (Wang & Mazawi, 2021) of launching the first accredited British Columbia bilingual offshore school for K-12 in Paris, France in 2015. This presentation will examine the Canada-France relations, two countries sharing the same views on international relations, working together on common interests such as language, cultural diversity, and international student mobility. The presentation will also seek to address the tensions of multilingual, multicultural, and multilevel classrooms, deconstructing the political arena of sensitive and diverse inequities in international education.
