Implementation of the Shoah Theme into Teaching at the Lower-Secondary School from the Perspective of University Students
The main aim of the presented research is to find out what are the preconceptions of university students in the field of implementation of the Shoah into the teaching of Literary Education at different levels of education in the Czech Republic. We believe that the descriptions of the current situation in this area based on the opinions of Czech Language and Literature students can contribute to the possible direction of teaching relevant subjects at the faculties of education of universities that focus on the preparation of future teachers. The summary description can also serve as a basis for editors of reading-books for different levels of education, focusing on the current requirements placed on members of democratic societies. The research part of the project was carried out through a non-standardized questionnaire, which was validated in research oriented to find out the opinions of teachers of Czech Language and Literature professionally working at the lower-secondary school on the implementation of the Shoah theme in the teaching of Literature Education. The respondents of the quantitative research were students of the Department of Czech Language and Literature at the Faculty of Education of Palacký University in Olomouc. The data collection was conducted through an online questionnaire sent to the respective potential respondents at their university e-mail addresses. In this paper we present partial results of the above-described project.
