Brain Computer Interface (Bci) –Review Article from a Neuropsychological Perspective with Applications and Survey

ABSTRACT: 

The aim of the paper is to provide an updated overview of the field of BCI (Brain Computer Interface) and to investigate what has happened since the concept was introduced in the research context; what practical results the research has led to and what applications have emerged. The preferred methodology is a literature review drawing background and a survey. This is followed by a discussion in which challenges for the future, potential and applications of BCI technology are addressed from a neuropsychological perspective. Will BCI technology be implemented in the same way as radio, TV and telecommunications in society and what are the ethical and technical problems today. In order to depict the public perception of BCI, a pilot web-based survey (n=32) was conducted to give an indication of attitudes and how the public opinion with respect to applications in contemporary times and comparisons with respect to technological background.
