Promoting Inclusive Education _ Cooperation for Equal Participation

ABSTRACT: 

I would like to share with you our experience, how informal education helps the goals of formal education and the socialization of people with disabilities in the community. In 2022, Kutaisi public (special boarding) school #45 for deaf children implemented a project in partnership with Public School #33 ( ordinary) school of Kutaisi. 30 students from both schools participated in the project, which was financed by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia. In response to the Covid-19 pandemic challenges in the country, formal and non-formal education processes in schools were carried out both contact and partially or fully remote, hybrid models. Promoting students’ socialization has become even more important because of pandemic stress. Purpose of Partnership: Cooperation and socialization of teenagers of #45 school for deaf children and #33 public schools of Kutaisi. Was funded: Handicraft and Readers’ Clubs.  Volunteers came together around common interests to make various useful items. Involved persons: Club consultants, Teachers, Sign language interpreters. The work of the clubs was carried out on various applied topics; Students developed their higher thinking skills and a positive attitude towards reading by engaging in various activities; Became more confident; Actively used their own resources; Our pupils are integrated with the local community;
