ABSTRACT:

The work discusses creativity at school and advocates, more specifically, a teaching intentionally focused on the development of this competence. It is a master’s research cut, (FLEIDER, 2022) that investigated creativity at school, specifically in the early years of Elementary School. It focused on teaching for creativity promoted by the action of the teacher, which encourages the participation of students in creative processes, based on the premise that creativity is an innate potential and that everyone can develop it. The objective of the study was to investigate how teaching for creativity, as well as stimulating creative thinking, are being addressed in pedagogical practice, in a private school in the city of São Paulo. The methodology used was of a qualitative nature, through the analysis of didactic programs, their contents and activities developed, which allowed the analysis of proposals that develop teaching for creativity. The research was carried out during the pandemic and classes at the researched school followed the hybrid format. It was concluded that teaching for creativity appears modestly in the proposals of activities and without intentionality. The availability and teaching knowledge of creativity has implications for the way they stimulate and provide enabling situations for creative thinking.
