Remote Education in Poland – Opportunities, Barriers, Ambivalence

ABSTRACT:

The period of remote teaching related to the emergence of the pandemic was a surprise to all actors of educational institutions – teachers, parents and students themselves. New challenges appeared, which became a motivation to look for innovative solutions. People involved in the educational process dealt with this situation in different ways. There was also a whole range of emotions, which had a direct impact not only on the teaching-learning process, but also on the quality of family relationships (in the face of the multitude of tasks that had to be combined in a common space). In my speech, based on desk research, I would like to present statistics on emotions and behaviors that appeared in relation to remote education, subjectively perceived assessment of remote education, as well as ways of coping and adaptation mechanisms launched by people involved in education. I will refer my speech to the situation of remote education in Poland.
