USMLE Step 1 Preparation Program: Navigating through challenges of Medical School
Petjiuaje Tjiparuro
ABSTRACT:
The USMLE Step 1 exam is a crucial milestone for medical students, determining their eligibility for residency program interviews. Unfortunately, failure to pass the exam can shatter students’ dreams of becoming physicians. To address this issue, this poster presentation introduces a collaborative and student-centered program that empowers medical students to pass their Step 1 exam, pursue their professional goals, and reduce attrition rates. The multi-phased program incorporates an array of tools and strategies that have been tested and refined over time. The presentation will provide an in-depth analysis of these components, emphasizing the collaborative and student-centered approach that underpins the program’s success. Participants will gain valuable insights into the program’s tools and strategies, with the aim of replicating them in their respective institutions. Ultimately, this poster presentation aims to inspire participants to reimagine the magic of academic advising for medical students.
