Desired Politician Leadership in The Next Decade

ABSTRACT:
This article presents a comprehensive review of the literature on the leadership qualities desired in politicians. Notably, several qualities are consistently valued across diverse cultural, social, and political contexts, including honesty, transparency, experience, vision, communication skills, empathy, and ethical conduct. These qualities have significant implications on policy implementation, public trust, and overall governance effectiveness. While the importance of these qualities is universally recognized, further research is necessary to refine leadership development programs and promote more effective political leadership. This review contributes to the existing body of knowledge by integrating these diverse qualities and presenting a comprehensive overview of desired political leadership qualities.
