Impact of Professional Development of Managers on School Governance: A Case Study of Szabist Managed Schools in (Larkana, Nawabshah and Mirpurkhas)

ABSTRACT:
This study has been designed to produce a Professional Development model for school managers who are not aware about their core roles and responsibilities.
Pakistan is going through continuous struggle to work on the standards and improvement of education. To improve the system, many attempts were made to improve the quality of education in schools, it was interpreted that problems and challenges arising at the school level should be resolved on site.
The professional training of head teachers is not considered as an entry qualification for the headship in schools. In order to train the school head teachers in Pakistan, there is a demand to diagnose the needs of the head teachers and understand what sort of skills, knowledge and competence are required for them in the area of school management.
Through this study a model for Professional Development will be made to address the needs of school managers, considering that there is a close relationship between context and leadership, principal preparation programs should be guided by a deeper examination of contextual factors.
