The Personalized Learning Approach Comparison to The Traditional Approach in The Digital Era
Moshe Facler
ABSTRACT:
“One-size-fits-all” model of teaching tends to be replaced by personalized learning. Personalized learning has become the standard practice for improving learning in every field for many years. The digital era allows a leap forward by being able to create a personalized learning path for the learner by getting to know his personality, dreams, hobbies, interests, strengths, and weaknesses that need to be improved to face the challenges of the 21st century and develop the skills necessary for lifelong learning. Today’s student must learn based on what he will encounter tomorrow. All student abilities matter. The compilation of student profile data is a significant component alongside the others used regularly in the digital age, especially today after the COVID-19 pandemic. This poster presents the effect of defining the student’s learning profile to create his learning path in the REVODUCATE personalized learning system. The Personal Learning Profile paints a holistic picture of the learner at the start of their personalized learning journey. It contributes significantly to the student’s ability to achieve their learning goals and is a powerful tool for both the learner and the teacher. Parents also play an essential role in building the student’s learning profile from the entry, as they know the student’s best history in preschool and so far, during school. When the learner profile is updated during the year and over the years, using the REVODUCATE system as a central and critical component for student success also changes the role of the teacher and defines a new type of responsibility and role.
