ABSTRACT:

Agricultural development It is strongly dependent on water considered as the most critical resource for sustainable worldwide. For the crops 65 % of the applied water is used and this is while the irrigation efficiency is very low, furthermore, fresh water supplies will be diverted from agriculture to meet the increasing because of demand of industry and domestic use. In arid areas the irrigation water sustainable use is a priority for agriculture. therefore, under climate change and scarcity conditions considerable try has been devoted recently to present policies aiming for water efficiency increase based on the allegation: better management with less water. Better management generally refers to water allocation improvement or efficiency of irrigation water. The former is depending on the irrigation technology type, the water application scheduling and environmental conditions while the latter closely related to adequate pricing. Practices of agricultural, such as management of soil, fertilizer and irrigation application and pest and disease control are related with the sustainable management of water in the environment protection and agriculture. Climate change and socioeconomic pressures impose restrictions to water allocated. The sustainable management of water adoption in Mediterranean is not only a technological problem but involves many other considerations relative to rural community’s social behavior, the constrains of economic, or the institutional and legal framework that may favor some measures adoption.
