ABSTRACT:

Stereotypes permeate modern society, shaping perceptions and behaviors with profound consequences. While serving as cognitive shortcuts, stereotypes also perpetuate prejudice, discrimination, and inequality. This article delves into the intricate web of stereotypes prevalent in contemporary discourse, particularly focusing on altruism. Through a qualitative research lens, it explores how stereotypes manifest in media representations, political speeches, and cultural narratives, impacting individual well-being and societal cohesion. The study identifies a myriad of stereotypes, from the portrayal of gender roles in the media to the characterization of religious and racial identities. Moreover, it scrutinizes the use of stereotypes in political rhetoric, highlighting their persuasive power and perilous pitfalls. However, amidst these challenges, the article emphasizes the opportunity for change through collective awareness, critical reflection, and proactive efforts to challenge biased beliefs.
