Today, technology is an important aspect in our lives. Thus, its role in the educational process has been studied for a better understanding of its integration and effective use. Paraguay has implemented ICTs in public education in order to provide students with skills in the use of technological tools. Consequently, this study seeks to provide information on the use and scope of ICT in secondary education in Paraguay from the teacher’s perspective. The study used a mixed methods approach through the use of a questionnaire and focus groups with teachers from 107 public schools. The results indicate that it is necessary to improve access to technological tools for teachers, as well as for students. In addition, it is necessary to continuously train teachers for the best integration of such tools in the classroom, especially to face crisis situations such as the one caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Holistic support to educational actors through public policies is necessary to ensure the effective use of ICT in the classroom and student learning.
