Eleni Tsami, Dimitra Kouloumpou, Dimitrios Anastasopoulos
ABSTRACT:
This paper was prepared at the Department of Statistics and Insurance Science of the University of Piraeus and aims to examine whether gender discrimination is observed in non-formal forms of education and mainly in the field of statistics. The work is divided into two parts. The first part includes the theoretical part, which, for its understanding, talks about all forms of education and the way each one affects the student. Next, we refer to the distinction between the two sexes both in the field of education and work, emphasizing the need to restore inequality. For the second part, electronic questionnaires were distributed, through the Google forms platform, to adult students and the work is analyzed with the help of diagrams. More specifically, we highlight their differences in statistics course performance as well as the prejudices that still exist for women. So, according to our data, we try to draw a conclusion and see how a group of people thinks. Finally, we try to discover ways that will favor equality and eliminate competition.
