Attitudes towards Urban Life during the Covid-19 Pandemic – a Social Diagnosis

ABSTRACT: 

The paper presents the results of the research carried out under the research project “Rzeszow Social Diagnosis”. Aim of the study: To examine attitudes towards the city from the perspective of secondary school youth, students and parents.

Methodological assumptions: Conceptualization and operationalization of the category of attitudes by distinguishing three components: cognitive, affective (emotional) and behavioral. The cognitive component will include beliefs about the city that can be operationalized as knowledge about the city or interest in the city. The affective component will refer to emotions towards the city, what the respondents like about the city and what they don’t like, what they are proud of and what they are ashamed of. The affective component will refer to behaviors or dispositions to behaviors, e.g. related to staying in or leaving the city.

Research groups: 1) students of post-primary schools in Rzeszów; 2) parents with school-age children,

3) students of universities in Rzeszów.

Research technique: CAWI online survey. Sample: 4,500 respondents.
