ABSTRACT:

The retail trade sector, which is one of the sustainable industries, provides significant benefits with its position in the world economy and its development in the Turkish economy. Financial performance evaluation is an important tool to measure the success and competitiveness of companies, providing valuable information for investors, analysts, and businesses to make strategic decisions. The aim of this study is to rank the retail trade companies registered in ISE on their financial performances. The Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) is a multi-criteria decision-making method used to evaluate and rank alternatives based on their proximity to an ideal solution. In this study, the financial performances of nine retail trade companies in the ISE were analyzed by using TOPSIS method based on the financial statements of the year 2018-2022. Financial performance conditions of these companies are put forward. The study provides an important tool for analysts and investors to evaluate the financial performance of companies in the retail trade sector.
