ABSTRACT:

This study evaluates the effectiveness of Malasakit Centers in improving healthcare access in the Philippines, focusing on their impact since their establishment. Malasakit Centers are one-stop shops in government hospitals aimed at streamlining medical and financial assistance from various government agencies. By analyzing patient data, interviews with healthcare professionals, and policy reviews, this research investigates the extent to which these centers have enhanced healthcare accessibility for marginalized populations. Key performance indicators such as patient satisfaction, service efficiency, and financial assistance disbursement are examined. Preliminary findings suggest that Malasakit Centers have significantly reduced bureaucratic barriers, expedited medical assistance processes, and improved overall patient satisfaction. However, challenges such as resource allocation, staff training, and sustainability of funding remain. This study contributes to the ongoing discourse on healthcare reforms in the Philippines by providing empirical evidence on the operational effectiveness of Malasakit Centers. The findings aim to inform policymakers and healthcare administrators on potential improvements and best practices for scaling and sustaining these centers nationwide. Recommendations include enhancing inter-agency coordination, increasing public awareness, and ensuring continuous training for staff to maintain service quality. The study concludes that while Malasakit Centers have positively impacted healthcare access, strategic enhancements are essential for their long-term success and broader health outcomes.
