The Comparison of Greenhouse Gasses from Two Sides of the World
Vishresh Vasan, Muthukumaran Arigovindan
ABSTRACT:
Emissions of methane and nitrous oxide in North America and the Himalayan regions, focusing on their status and future projections. These two greenhouse gases (GHG) significantly contribute to global warming, originating from various sources and pathways in the specified areas. Using an extensive examination of existing studies and data analyses, the study presents an overview of the primary contributors to methane and nitrous oxide emissions. These sources include natural gas infrastructure, agricultural practices, waste management systems, transportation networks, and industrial operations. Furthermore, the research highlights the impact of natural phenomena like wetlands and waterlogged soils on methane and nitrous oxide emissions specifically within the Himalayan regions.
