The Linguistic Legacy of the Reformation: Tracing Socio-Cultural Transformation in 16th Century England
Zeynab Salmanova
ABSTRACT:
This article explores the profound linguistic and cultural transformations initiated by the Protestant Reformation in 16th-century England. Traditionally studied through theological or political lenses, the Reformation is approached here from an anthropological and intercultural communication perspective. The research reveals how language, as both a tool and a symbol, mediated socio-cultural change, empowered the laity, and redefined national identity.
