Organisational Development’s Role in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Sustainability in Private Organisations
Karmela Palma-Samson
ABSTRACT:
Organisational development (OD) is a powerful strategic planning tool that organisations can employ in wide array of projects. Those that are experienced with organisational development skills are able to easily identify, prepare for, and act on challenges presented in front of them. One of the critical challenges in today’s modern business organisations is the need for them to comply to the initiatives on environment, societies, and governments where all their practices must be aligned towards protecting their stakeholders, immediate or non-immediate. In the case of private organisations, a small dataset comprising of 10 respondents practicing OD and are involved in ESG initiatives found that they are under-utilized for the role.
