ABSTRACT:
The Graduate Research Advisement & Amelioration for Nurturing Dissertations (GRAND) project aims to provide research-based, empirically-sound advisement and amelioration methods for nurturing doctoral dissertations and/ or master’s theses. The main purpose is to help stakeholders about everything a doctoral student needs to know in their doctoral journey. The project strengthens our doctoral programs and helps potential doctoral students by sharing all the insights and tips regarding how to conduct a good research study for a dissertation, doctoral journey and graduate career, research and writing skills, dissertation plans and structures, and dissertation proposal and defense processes…etc. Significant findings include improvement of time to degree, the quality of the doctoral student’s dissertation, and better retention and success rate. Practical suggestions and implications will be further shared and discussed in the presentation.
