Presidential Sex Scandals: Sonic Therapeutic Approach
Vasudev Das
ABSTRACT:
Research on sonic therapeutic interventions for preventing (STI) presidential sex scandals is negligible in the management domain. Moreover, research on presidential sex scandals has been typically quantitative. This qualitative hermeneutic phenomenological study aimed to fill the gap in the leadership literature. Many citizens imitate their presidents and whatever standard the president establishes becomes the norm considering that the president of a country is the role model for most of the citizenry. Grounded on Prabhupada’s sonic therapeutic intervention and Bandura’s self-regulation frameworks, the researcher sonographically explored the lived experiences of six STI practitioners regarding how STI prevents presidential sex scandals. The investigative inquirer generated data using semi-structured interviews from snowballing purposeful samples and reviewing documents. A meticulous analysis of the transcription of the interview data revealed that STI enabled character development, consequentiality mindfulness, high self-control, and high self-regulation. The four emerged themes made it easier for presidents to stay out of illicit sex scandals. Leading with sexual integrity, self-regulated presidential leadership, trustworthy presidential leadership, people-oriented presidential leadership, ethical leadership, and values-based leadership are among the study’s implications for constructive societal change.
