Human Rights and the Islamic Religion
Hani Al-Sayed Fouda Saafan
ABSTRACT:
One of the most controversial topics in the Islamic religion is the extent to which the Islamic religion is compatible with human rights and freedoms. Since More than 1,400 years ago, Islam introduced legislation and values that promote and protect human rights. Despite cultural and historical differences, there is great compatibility between Islamic principles and universal human rights principles. This consensus reflects the comprehensive nature of Islam as a religion that seeks to achieve goodness, justice and dignity for all human beings. In this research paper, we discuss: Are there contradictions and differences, or are there Similarities and compatibility? Through my specialization as a university professor and researcher in the Islamic religion, we see strong similarities between each of them. Starting with the right to life, justice and equality, the right to freedom of belief, the right to education, economic and social rights, the right to freedom of expression, the prohibition of torture, the rights of religious minorities, the prohibition of discrimination on the basis of sex, color, religion and other factors they have in common, and through This research paper will explain in some detail each of the previous elements.”
