Hussain Al-zami, Feras Ammar

ABSTRACT:

This paper presents YASREF Maintenance Planning best practices with a focus on enhancing maintenance efficiency, workflow integration, and equipment reliability through structured planning and SAP system optimization. The study explains the complete maintenance planning and scheduling work process, highlighting its positive impact on resource utilization, work prioritization, execution control, manpower coordination, and overall operational performance. It also provides an overview of SAP notification types, including customized notifications developed to support specific maintenance requirements, improve communication between departments, facilitate accurate maintenance history documentation, and ensure effective tracking and reporting of maintenance activities. Furthermore, the paper shares best practices for linking critical equipment special tools with the Bill of Materials (BOM), enabling planners and technicians to ensure tool availability, improve maintenance preparedness, minimize execution delays, and reduce equipment downtime. In addition, the preventive maintenance deferral process and its SAP system integration are discussed, emphasizing compliance, risk management, approval workflow transparency, and proper monitoring to maintain equipment integrity and operational continuity. The paper also explains the customized system-initiated reservation process for heavy equipment used in maintenance activities, which improves equipment availability, resource planning, interdepartmental coordination, and execution efficiency. These best practices collectively demonstrate how digital integration, standardized processes, and proactive maintenance strategies contribute to improved reliability, safety, cost optimization, and maintenance excellence within YASREF operations while supporting sustainable operational performance and continuous improvement initiatives.
