The Relationship Between Hexaco Personality Traits, Emotional Processing and Cyber Aggression with Students' Academic Achievement

ABSTRACT:

Introduction: Academic achievement is an important variable in the educational process and is great importance in continuing students’ education, and increases their self-confidence and quality of academic life. Therefore, the present study investigated the relationship between HEXACO personality traits, emotional processing and cyber aggression with students’ academic achievement.
Method: The research method was correlational. The statistical population of the present study was junior high school students, who 176 students were selected as a sample size by convenience sampling, and responded to the HEXACO personality traits, Baker et al Emotional processing, Cyber aggression questionnaires. The grade point average at the end of the academic semester was used to measure students’ academic achievement. The Pearson correlation formula was used to analyze the data.
Results: The findings showed that there is a significant positive correlation between HEXACO personality traits (honesty, extroversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, openness to experience), and a significant negative correlation between personality traits of emotionality emotional processing, and cyber aggression with academic achievement. Conclusion: Considering the findings and the importance of research variables in academic achievement, it is recommended that education and training professionals pay attention to the importance of personality traits, emotional processing, and cyber aggression in the teaching and learning process in order to increase students’ academic achievement.
