Managing renewable energy sources: challenges and strategies in the context of Sustainable Development in Poland compared to other countries
Dr. Michał Igielski
ABSTRACT:
The main objective of this article is to analyse the current challenges and strategies related to the development and management of renewable energy sources (RES) in the context of global and European sustainability trends. In order to achieve the research objective, the author used a critical analysis with reference to the collected literature; an observational method with reference to reports and statistical data, which made it possible to obtain and use a number of scientific insights on the behaviour of economic actors in changing external and internal conditions; and the analytical method by considering a number of concepts, problems and terms in RES and sustainability management. By doing so, we can posit that societies and organisations are aware of the challenges they face in relation to the new determinants of the economy and are trying to move towards development based on sustainability. In the near future, the effective use of renewable energy sources in the context of sustainable development will likely be a permanent element of management. Therefore, all barriers that stand in the way of optimal utilization of the potential of these fixed assets must be eliminated – for organizations, this will mean higher efficiency, greater innovation, and flexibility in adapting to changes.
