Transitioning Smoothly from F2f To Online

ABSTRACT:
In recent years, online teaching is becoming more popular. However, despite its benefits it has become a challenge for many ESL teachers. While in a traditional face to face classroom a teacher can keep learners engaged in different interactive activities, in online platform it appears to be challenging, due to many disturbing factors; technology challenges, learning environment, etc. This presentation will draw parallels between offline and online teaching techniques and activities by giving a detailed explanation of a smooth transition to online teaching platform by sample lessons and the explanations in the form of \”know how\”. It also will present examples of offline activities and their online equivalents and will demonstrate step-by-step instructions for implementing these activities in the online environment. That will help teachers to keep students engaged in the learning process as best as possible. This session is intended for elementary and high school teachers and for those with less online-teaching experience. Participants will learn how to create interactive activities in online platform that can make learning more fun, engaging, effective. They will also learn about online resources and websites for creating customized lessons based on learners’ needs and language proficiency level. This presentation aims to facilitate a smooth transition to the digital classroom and enhance the learning experience for both teachers and students. At the end of the session participants will master the skills to create engaging online lessons and will learn ways how to preserve the authenticity behind the screen. They also will have the availability to AI powered websites that will make teaching more productive.
