Intercultural Competence diagnostic through the Action Research Living Theory

ABSTRACT:

The article discusses methodological issues to develop an instrument to measure the degree of Intercultural Competence and find out how this competence is related to the pedagogical practices of teachers of Spanish as a second language in a University in Mexico. Based on the analysis of the main features of Intercultural Competence and the principles of the Actionresearch Living Theory, the author developed two instruments to diagnose and keep track of the development of the intercultural competence of the teachers of Spanish as a foreign language. Methodological recommendation on applying the instruments are proposed. The present instruments and methodological propositions offers a new approach to the problem of diagnosed the intercultural competence in specific contexts.
