ABSTRACT:
This paper provides a comprehensive roadmap for organizations to leverage the Open Talent Ecosystem as a scalable solution to address disruptions and new generation workforce demands in the evolving business landscape. The roadmap shows how traditionally functioning organization could leverage talent across globe by deploying Open Talent Hybrid Work (OTHW) model. This model offers a strategic approach to optimize workforce flexibility by integrating both internal and external talent, ensuring a balance between breadth and depth of skills. The paper focuses on the transition of an organization from traditional hierarchical structures to a more networked, decentralized, flexible structure to adapt OTHW model. A prototype of the model is presented with real time implementation in a business function for organizations to adopt open talent systems. It underscores the need to deconstruct work into components requiring ideation, niche skills, or operational expertise. This approach enables detailed analysis of tasks, allowing for the assignment of most appropriate talent— whether internal or external—to each task. Potential barriers in this transition like employee resistance is addressed by emphasizing leadership’s role in building a culture of creditability and trust. The study showcases a case study on automating hiring processes within organizations, illustrating practical applications of OTHW model. Additionally, the paper highlights the critical role of Human Resources in curating workplaces that inspire employees and support organizational structures in adopting innovations. Overall, the findings suggest that, OTHW model is crucial for future-ready organizations seeking to embrace agility and maximize workforce potential.
