Assoc. Prof. Doaa M.F. Jarrar, Assoc. Prof. Arwa Al Twal , Nadeen Daoud
ABSTRACT:
This research investigates the dynamics of hybrid and remote working arrangements, focusing on their benefits and drawbacks from the perspectives of employees and managers within the Jordanian context. The goal of the study is to better understand the effects that flexible work arrangements have on businesses and employees while taking into account Jordan’s particular cultural, technological, and generational characteristics.
The study examines themes like general opinions regarding flexible work arrangements, individual feelings about their implementation, perceived benefits, obstacles, and the influence of Jordanian culture through a thorough literature review and qualitative analysis of survey data. It also looks at how Human Resource Management (HRM) helps make various work arrangements possible and how the COVID-19 epidemic has affected people’s opinions about working remotely and in a hybrid environment.
Two quantitative surveys that are aimed at employees and managers from different organizations in Jordan are part of the approach. The purpose of these surveys was to gather information on people’s attitudes, perceptions, and experiences with remote and hybrid employment. A thorough grasp of the phenomenon from both managerial and employee perspectives is ensured by the sample’s mix of managers and employees.
The results offer insightful information about the real-world effects of implementing flexible work schedules in Jordanian companies, along with suggestions for HR specialists and business executives looking to maximize the efficiency of these initiatives.
