ABSTRACT:

This study investigates the influence of pivotal factors that shape the creativity level of undergraduate agricultural students at higher education institutions in South Africa to engage in entrepreneurial activities. The influence was looked at from a gender perspective. Data was collected from students of the six universities in South Africa registered for various agricultural programmes. Data analysis was computed using SPSS version 29. Employing a quantitative research approach, the investigation utilizes a precisely crafted non-probability sampling methodology with a data collection process by applying structural equation modelling. The research revealed that the creativity of agricultural students is predicted by social networking and subjective norms, but not sociocultural forces. The moderating role of gender was not statistically significant on all these factors. Conversely, subjective norms and gender relationships of agricultural students were found to be statistically significant. This research equips educators, policymakers, and researchers with valuable insights, emphasizing the imperative of fostering social networking and subjective norms on the creativity level of undergraduate students. The study’s contribution to the academic landscape is noteworthy because it sheds light on facets such as social networking, sociocultural forces, and subjective norms, enriching the understanding of the influence of these factors on creativity levels among undergraduate agricultural students.
