Enhancing Social Sciences Education through Online Teaching Competencies

ABSTRACT:

This poster presentation discusses key competencies and training models to prepare social sciences educators for effective online teaching. It identifies essential skills like communication, technology use, curriculum design, and assessment. Current training methods and new proposed models like self-directed learning, mentorships, and collaborative workshops are compared. Case studies, challenges, and recommendations to bridge gaps between traditional and online instruction are provided. Presenting this poster presentation at the ICETL conference will allow for the sharing of best practices and perspectives, facilitating thoughtful dialogue around enhancing online education within the social sciences.
