ABSTRACT:

The study explores the interconnection between Learning Styles, Information Literacy, and the development of an inclusive curriculum. Information Literacy emerges as a set of essential skills in contemporary society, enabling individuals to locate, search, and use information critically and responsibly in problem-solving and decision-making. Understanding and identifying Learning Styles is fundamental for an educational environment that meets everyone’s needs. This promotes inclusive and equitable education. In this context, the present study analyzed how different Learning Styles influenced the ability to acquire Information Literacy skills and competencies and how this teaching-learning process could be integrated into the undergraduate curriculum. A descriptive methodology with both qualitative and quantitative approaches was used, with a quasi-experimental investigation method. The data collection instruments included a questionnaire, an inventory for identifying Learning Styles, and Information Literacy activities. It was found that when students receive information in ways that align with their preferred learning styles, they tend to retain and understand the content better. The conclusions also highlight the need for diverse educational strategies to promote efficient and effective Information Literacy, adapting to the different learning modes of students. The results thus indicated that these findings have significant implications for the teaching-learning process, necessitating curriculum implementation to promote inclusion, information literacy, and effective quality education.
