Ratan Barua
ABSTRACT:
The moral Education for teenagers from a Theravāda Buddhist perspectives, focusing on the concepts of good and bad, social ethics and happiness. In Theravāda Buddhism, moral development is rooted in the understanding of Karma, emphasizing actions that lead to personal well-being and collective harmony. The Five Precepts serve as fundamental guidelines for distinguishing right from wrong, offering a clear moral framework for teenagers. This perspective also underscores the importance of social ethics, fostering responsibility, compassion, and respect for others. Moreover, it connects ethical behavior with the pursuit of true happiness, defined as inner peace and liberation from suffering. By integrating these teachings, Theravāda Buddhism provides a holistic approach to moral education, shaping teenagers into ethically aware, socially responsible individuals who prioritize both personal and communal well-being.
